Faculty Position in the Biology of Photosynthetic Organisms

The MSU-DOE Plant Research Laboratory (PRL) has a tenure-track, twelve-month faculty position available at the Assistant Professor level. We are recruiting an individual who investigates fundamental questions addressing the biology of plants, algae, or photosynthetic bacteria at a mechanistic level. Research on novel natural or synthetic model organisms is welcomed. Successful applicants should complement and extend areas of expertise and research at the PRL. Individuals are expected to employ innovative and state-of-the art approaches, which may include, but are not limited to, advanced molecular and structural biology, cell biology, computational biology, genetics and genomics, metabolomics, synthetic biology, biophysics, phenomics, or modeling.

Applications must include a cover letter, curriculum vitae, summary of research accomplishments, a 3-5 page plan for future research that details specifically how the candidate envisions their research will fit within and complement the PRL core research as well as how they will establish independent research directions.
